I know what you mean. When we had children at home we had dogs. We had three Basset Hounds and a St. Bernard. As our children married and left home they took their dogs with them. No more scooping up dogie poop.
My hobbies are writing family histories to leave as a legacy for my posterity. They need to know of the struggles that our forefathers went through to make a better place for us.
I have written my own personal history and my philosophy of life. My mothers history and her line back to the 1600"s. I just finished my father's history and his line back to the 1500's. His book was my biggest challenge. It was 500 pages of mostly text an some pictures. His research took 5 years.
I read about 2 books a week. Most are historical romances. I have a big collection of music that I listen to each day. I watch NBA basket ball and the travel channel. That keeps me very busy. Since I found yahoo answers it has taken away from my writing and working on my family photos.

yes, i know this! Do you know what is even scarier? I saw a car the other day with a sign on it and they had a phone number you could call, and they will come pick it up for you, for a fee! My fave hobby by the way is listening to music and being with my family!!
