I am a US citizen and have been to the UK on several occassions. I absolutely love the people, your history, the 'touristy' things to do etc etc. I know that not all Brits have a disdain for Americans but some do and I'm curious as to why. Just a US citizen who wants to know...thanks

Brave question, well done.
One on one you are great guys, I was in Germany with NATO and able to share time with Americans. I have also visited America and enjoyed your wonderful hospitality. Unfortunately the USA is the school bully. He is the biggest boy in the class and will bully everyone to impose his will. Examples ? He will ignore the UN to impose his foreign policy and pretend global warming isn't happening to protect the dollar and keep the politicians in power. Every day we see examples on our TV what this bully has created and we don't like it.

Hollywood's were given a lot to do with it, if a movie demands a 'undesirable guy', evil chief, a turncoat, a coward and so on then the decision is going out... 'carry out the Brit'! if it grow to be a representation of life then your prisons ought to bee complete to the brim with Brits, yet British passport holders, which contain twin and multi passport holders account for decrease than 2% human beings penitentiary inhabitants. There are also different Hollywood action pictures that portray American victories the position the really journey had 0% American involvement.

Do you want to understand one of the reasons normal Law of attractionmaterial does not work for lots of people? Here is the response https://tr.im/qGTxV .
Among the responses for this concern that you will discover in this guide is that it makes it appear like once you do get exactly what you desire, that' it. Okay, you have exactly what you want now but exactly what are you supposed to do in order to sustain the change or benefits you've gotten? Consider it like a diet plan. If you wish to drop weight and you strive to lose it, okay, you've managed to lose the weight? Does this mean you can stop doing the things that triggered you to lose the weight in the very first location? If you do, then it will only be a brief period prior to you were back to your regular weight and perhaps a little heavier.
What you require, the solution of this problem is this guide that doesn't puzzle you about exactly what LOA. This is what the Manifestation Miracle is supposed to do. This guide is a distinct spin on standard LOA material, since traditional LOA product doesn't seem to provide the whole picture of exactly what' required in order to achieve success not simply in the short term but long term.

On the whole I like Americans as much as I like people from any other country, including my own. I've visited both the east and west coasts and I find the Americans I meet really nice people.
However I think your government is the biggest threat to work peace, and ours isn't far behind.
I do dislike the egocentric view of the world which a lot of people in the US have; perhaps it's a fault of the education system but they can't cope with facts which contradict their self esteem.
e.g. The film Enigma, which I boycotted. Unable to cope with the fact that the British found the enigma machine, the film makes it a US sub.
Similarly twice on Answers Americans have asked who invented the electric light. The truth is that many people in many parts of the world were working on the idea in the same period, so there was no single inventor. However the first patent was granted in Britain to Joseph Swan, a year before Edison received the US patent. The questioners, being American, can't cope with this affront to their beliefs. They ignore the facts and give best answer to people who give a wrong answer but confirm their beliefs.
I'm quite sure you are not like that and are more open minded but as in all countries it's the ones who shout loudest and act worse get noticed more.

Actually I like Americans and have just acquired a beautiful American daughter in law. I also have a very remarkable adopted member of my family, who calls me mom and I love dearly. So please take what I am going to say in the spirit in which it is meant. Many Americans supported the IRA many hundreds of thousands of dollars were donated to the Provisionals through collections in America. This was used to buy death - children blown to pieces buying mothers day presents, babies shot in their car seats whilst their father was visiting MacDonalds, people maimed and killed honouring the dead of two world wars, pubs and night clubs blown up knowing that it would cause the maximum amount of death and injury - all paid for with American money. We never knew where they were going to strike so the war on terror is not new to us. Nothing was done by your government to stop the money coming in and in fact many politicians actively encouraged it, the Kenedy clan etc. This was only half heartedly stopped after nine eleven. The memory of this is still very raw and has left a nasty taste. Now we are facing a new threat and we should be facing it together - but we aren't, Brits are put through stringent tests when visiting America luggage broken into and searched held up at immigration for hours, doesn't matter what colour we are or who we are, a Brit so a suspect! I know that this lunatic government of ours in it's stupid multi cultural, human rights policy is greatly to blame for the rise of Muslim extreemists in this country. I also know that we are facing an even more dangerous enemy than even the IRA, the trouble is that we don't know if we can trust the American establishment we certainly don't trust our own government! As for the ordinary every day American, God bless you and keep you safe.

Could be because of what Bush has involved the world in with his politics. On the whole most Brits like Americans, but compared to to you Americans the Brits are more reserved in the way they do things. Some of them may find you a bit brash so you may encounter some cold looks, but your allright man.

I'm British & I have to say I have no particular like or dislike for Americans. I know there are lots of stereotypes. Hope this will shed some light -

Brits don't like Americans because -
*Your accent is annoying
*You're all fat and dumb
*They DO think they're the best at everything
*The whole Bush / Blair thing - you got us in the shite
*You say 'Have a nice day' constantly and it's so false

And we like you because -
*You're our ally
*You have Disney World
*You made 'Friends'

I lived in Newport Beach Califonia for some time in the 8O's. I therefore mixed a lot with American's and their families.

I personally found most Americans very nice, and most hospitable.

There are however some differences in the way we think which is only natural.

Americans, when buying a house, class dish washers, dryers, washing machines, fridge freezers as necessities and expect them to be already in the house purchase. Unfortunately that is not the case here, we get the house (if wer'e lucky) and then have to save like hell, unless wer'e wealthy, sometimes for years to obtain these things. ( Don't get me wrong, I think your way is much better, in my opinion they are necessities).

I also found that Americans were very open and proud about what they did and expecially how much they got paid for it, and would expect us English to be the same (NO) we are very conservative and private in such things and therefore feel that you are intruding on our privacy.

Americans are very social and English are not so outgoing.

I must say I personally like American's,although I did find some of the men to be very dominated by their wives -g/f's, and the women to be extremely bossy and vein ( even when they were'nt particularly good looking).
Women there seem to have a lot more to say than here in England, they also seem very materialistic and money orientated, unlike here.

Hope this answers some of your questions, obviously this is only my personal opinion.
I for one found America very beautiful, but vast and a bit frightening because of it's size after living on a small island like England, I found it a little overwelming and returned here, but I think at that stage in my life I was under confident, and looking back, so wish I'd stayed. I'm sure I would have ended up having a much better life there.

Don't get me wrong, I have lived in other countries and still returned to the green green grass of home, and do love England, but most definitely think I missed a great opportunity for a better life.

Anyway, your welcome here as far as I'm concerned.I would also like to say I hope this war is ended soon, so that your troups and ours can return to their homeland whether it be England or America.

So in a word I think a lot of English are a bit jellous.

Good luck and best wishes.

Its really your government foreign policies that evokes most ire.

Personally I've found Americans to be a very warm and friendly people. Its just encountering those Americans who don't travel much can verge on the comical. (What follows are all real).

In Texas I have encountered people who have expressed genuine surprise at the colour of foreign bank notes "Hey, its so colourful! Ours are only green!"
Others who tried to board international flights by using a Texas driving licence as ID.
People who have never heard of the Russian secret services "Who's the KGB?" "Those real Russian bad asses."
"Galveston. You have the beach, then a road with the shops and restaurants on the other side. Nowhere else like it in the world."

I personally blame the education system and the insular US media who aim to entertain but fails to inform.

Welcome to the UK. I'm sure we do things here that Americans can have a good laugh about.

You can blame the American media, met a few people from the states who were great, that shocked me as i had a frame of mind that yous were laughable at due to your lack of thought it seemed like feeling sorry for yous for being dumb. Thinking back yous were in the same class as third world and look down upon but 15 years have passed since my first meeting and i have still to met someone that can surpass my arrogance and that's what i found strange in your question that you had been told yous were arrogant, i figured yous were opposite of.
