No, its not even a stereotype. Nobody thinks that because its not true. If anything, they practice modesty because its part of their religious culture.

I am from Afhanistan!I am persian. My parents were born in Kabul. Do you have a problem with that? No one in Missouri bothers me about my race. I am the popular one in school. Straight As, volleyball student, track student, best in class, band player. What were you? That was mean. American men are just as stuck up. They won't help wives on thanksgiving when they are supposed to be sharing love and getting closer as a family. They invite friends over and get drunk and stupid! That isn't what thanksgiving was about. Afghan men help the family make the dinner. Then they watch the football games. I don't see how we are stuck up. It's american men that are stuck up. You people owe us an apology.

I agree with you! Many of the Persians in this country are quiet stuck-up. I think they came here during the time when Shah was removed and Komani took over therefore these people probably were more upper class and westernized. It is not just the women their men are also stuck-up.

Chastity and femininity are highly valued in traditional Arab culture. They are not supposed to spend time around men outside their family or religious circle. It is unfair to stereotype them as cold or reserved. They are required to protect their honor and innocence. They are also used to seeking shelter.
