if you just do it once the fear will disappear. start with doing a dive in a kneeling position. i have found that beginners find it less scary.
don't be afraid of asking your instructor how to do something. that's what he's there for. if you don't ask you'll never learn. it might be embarrassing at first but you'll be happy in the end.

1) kneel on one knee while griping the pool edge with the toes of the other foot.
2)extend the arms over the head.
3)focus on a target on the surface of the water 1 to 2 feet from the side. the objective is to dive deep.
4)keep your chin tucked to avoid a belly flop.
5)lean forward, try to touch the water, and when you start to lose balance, push with the legs.
6)on entering the water, straighten the body and extend both legs

good luck

This is what you do...
1) Step on the blocks slowly and practice standing on it for a little bit, practice different positions and just get comfortable, noeone falls of bocks usually and they are very safe!
2) Put your right foot toes over the edge and put your ledt foor bent in the back (like a track start).
3) The grap the block with your had(where your toes are.
4) The official will say "take your mark and then there will be a loud beep or even a gun shot and you dive.
5) Practice diving a the ledge of the pool and the work you way up to the block. Try doing a belly flop, then do a belly flop with your hands in stream lineand sqeese your hed in between you arms.
This should work
Good Luck

at sixteen toes i do not suppose you ought to fear approximately the bends or compressed air increasing to your lungs. I were licensed for approximately thirteen months. Remember to pop your ears it's predominant. pass up and down slowly in view that im no longer unique approximately the compressed air. calm down earlier than you dive in view that if you do not you'll freak out. Hope you may have a a laugh time!!! A rather cool position to dive is off the coast of Florida. When I went there I noticed a ton of sea creatures adding turtles and eels!!
