although i don't own one myself, macs are always good.
they are refreshing and come with many interesting software that allow you to do anything from editing video to taking pictures, listen to music, and even do your office work.
it's perfect for quick downloads and does not get viruses easily.
as for the price, they vary...but if you're willing to spend the money, a good solid mac desktop is the way to go. they are also very sleek...

There are NO best brands! You have to know something about
the parts that are being used and how the interact with each other to support performance!

The best computer for you is the one that YOU build yourself!

I have never seen a system built with the MAX (technology/capability) for sale by any reseller.

HP hands down. Dell used to be good, but since they sent their customer (dis)service to India, you have to cross your fingers and hope that nothing goes wrong with it.

When you are ready to buy a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all of my stuff from them, and everything is Vista ready.

Microsoft is about to release its latest operating system, Vista, in January. It’s going to make all of these “bargain” computers nothing but JUNK as soon as it’s released. The reason that you are seeing so many cheap systems on the market right now is because a lot of them CAN’T RUN Vista and the merchants are trying to dump them as hard and fast as they can before Vista shows up and everyone learns what a piece of crap they were sold for $500 (or whatever).

Anyway, I bought a complete, new system from stupidcheapcomputers.net with a warranty for LESS than it would cost me to build it myself or order a custom one from the manufacturer. You can use my frequent buyer code: ATX926. That will get an additional 10% discount at checkout.

I have NEVER had any problems with anything that they have sold me and their customer service is outstanding. Those guys blow my mind.

Good luck!

BUILD YOUR OWN!!!! no best brand in the whole world, use your own specifications to build it. and the most of it, u can always have a chance to bargain the price because u can increase the spec u need, and u can also get rid of the spec u dont need. example, if u need big RAM, increase the size to the maximun extent, use up to 2 or 4 GBs if necessary (sorry, this just an extreme example, u know... ;p ), or if you use a flashdisk instead of a CD-ROM, just delete the CD-ROM out of ur shoplist... or use a 19" CRT standard flat monitor instead of a 15" LCD for the equal price, if u like...etc...

get it?...

hope u get ur best customized PC!...
