To use VNC you must have a host / client. Host - being the computer you wish to connect to, and the client, being the computer you wish to use to remote the host.

I have not used UltraVNC however I assume it would work simliar to RealVNC (except without the File Transfer and all that dazzle.)

1) Establish which is host and which is client.
We will assume that your "Home" is the (Host) and your "Work/Office" is the (Client).
2) To check your external / ip-address, you can goto the website "www.whatismyip.com" from the Host computer and write this down. This will allow you to connect.
3) From the (Client) computer type in that external IP of the (Host) and your in.

Note: This method is assuming that you aren't using any kind of major firewall like Norton Firewall, Mcafee Firewall, etc etc. This is also assuming your directly connected to the internet, without a firewall or router of any kind.

IF YOU ARE BEHIND A ROUTER where your host is, you will need to open a port so that the Client knows what computer you wish to connect to behind that router. To do this you need to login to the admin screen of your router and open up ports (5800 and 5900) to the IP address of the Host Computer.
(( Being there are so many kinds of routers, I would need to know which one to get you detailed steps on how to do this, the screens and steps are different in all of them...))

IF YOU HAVE A FIREWALL - Unfortunately there are many firewall programs as well, generally when you first run the program the firewall will appear asking if you wish to allow it to run, and there will also be a "remember" somewhere, you can check it and it will always be allowed.

And then there are many other things that might get in the way, if you still have problems, please modify the question with more detailed information so that we can give you more detailed instructions.
