My ex is threating to try to get 6 mo visitation a year. We reside in TX he is in another state. He has not seen my daughter in 10 1/2 yrs his choice. How hard will this be for him to get? He is only angry that I put in a child support modification. Thanks for your help

what is wrong with these fathers today?! no, i dont think he could get 50/50 custody, and yes, he sounds mad about having to actually pay for his child. he may be awarded more visitation (for that is what the court will see, that he is 'trying to establish a relationship' with his daughter), but i seriously doubt the 50/50 thing. if they did, the state would have to pay for the travel expenses (for you couldnt possibly, and nor could he).

hang in there, its very stressful (custody battles) but you'll come out on top, you'll see. also, your daughter is old enough to see him (and his games) for what he is, and stand her ground.

say nothing about it around her, and give her time. this link may help with issues of ex's and custody, child support etc.

Hasnt see her in 10½ years, and now THINKS he should simply pop in and play dad? I dont think so........Nor will the judge.
Sounds more like he doesnt wanna continue to pay year round support. Since you're making a suppor modification, I assume you have an attny. That's who should be answering your questions!

VERY likely. Happened with me. My ex lives on Chicago and we are here in Washington. She flys out every other weekend, breaks, his holidays. Its actually quite common. THe good thing is you can get the government to pay for the airfare!

If he hasn't seen her or been part of her life other than sending support it will be tough for him to get visitation. I'm sure they will think it odd that he wants it all of a sudden.
