I don't know that I would say that emotions are caused by beliefs.
I would more likely say that beliefs can affect our emotions.
If we believe that something is wrong or we have been wronged, we get angry.
If we believe someone hurt our feelings, we might cry or get angry.
People believe that deforesting is a depletion of our natural resources and natural habitat for wild life -- so people get angry and take action.
I believe that with an action there is a reaction, but there isn't always a reaction due to an action.

We are instilled with instincts and emotional feelings are a part of of our being. We think naturally and feel naturally and for the most part together. Sometimes we have emotions that we are not aware of but our mind and instincts are working without our knowledge sort of behind our backs. We could have a dream and we wake up laughing or crying, that is our psyche at work. It is un-natural to try and control our natural emotions that is all part of being human and it is like lying to yourself and your psyche will always know and always try to reverse the suppressed emotion to the Id. Conscious brain. So whether you believe it or not your bound to react about something emotionally.

No. SOmetimes you can watch a movie and you can tell it is all crap. Yet when there is some sort of situation in the movie that stimulates an emotion you feel it or have it even though you dont believe it. i would say it would have to come from experience. You know it so you have it.

Yes.
Specifically, most of our emotions are governed by the similarity or differences in our interpretations of situations and people compared to our beliefs or worldview.
One of my sources would be Terror Management Theory (wiki it for a brief).

I would think so. Sort of like if you are optimistic you would think more positive and cynical you would think more negative. More of a stability type of thing to find a purpose. I personally live free spirited. Whatever happens happens? Why should beliefs conquer who I am?

Emotions are stimulated by different types of neurotransmitters. There are two types of neurotransmitters: inhibitory and excitatory. Neurotransmitters like epinephrine or dopamine will give you a sense of "high" and is a mood elevator.

No. Not by beliefs, but suseptible to environmental conditions.
Emotions are a result of a chemical release in our brain, after the environmental trigger. The chemical release always occurs, just different chemicals for different emotions. And, we can become addicted to those chemical releases and seek out those environmental triggers. For more information please see "What the Bleep do we know?", a movie and website. It will open your eyes to yourself. And don't forget to laugh, we are only human.

Yeah, they are. We are mostly tormented by our strict allegiance to our Gods whom ever they are. The emotion comes when life doesn't feel good and I,( We )desire to renounce my god,our gods when life is in dismay. I ponder my Gods existence, and the possibilities , if conceivably possible !
But it's true that God cannot be conceived not to exist.--God is that , than which can be conceived not to exist is not God.
