Who do you think is the greatest Rock and Roll band? I would have to say The Rolling Stones...they've written and recorded some of the best rock songs ever, they've been around for well over 40 years and they still are rocking, even though they're all over 60. I just saw them in concert a few months ago and they were amazing.

I just wanted to add that I too LOVE The Beatles and Queen. I chose the Rolling Stones not only because of their vast catalogue of music and their influence on other acts, but because of they have the longevity that so many other great bands have not had.

For the 13 year old music genius...I'd say either "Sympathy for the Devil" or "You Can't Always Get What You Want" would qualify as The Stone's MAGNUM opus.

It depends on where u are, your taste, era u're living in,etc... if u're a Brit,u might say it's The Beatles. If u're an American, most likely u'd say it's The Rolling Stones.. My personal fav is (top to bottom) : Audioslave, Oasis, RATM, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Stone Roses,etc... "Paint it black" is a classic, YEAH! hehehhe...Nowadays,u wont get any good bands that'll make it a classic in the future. And, what's up with 'Emo' ..? childish, I'd say... :p

I'd agree the Stones are awesome cuz hey they're still around unlike the Beatles who still have great songs to speak for they're legacy. This is a tough one but I'd say
1-Rolling Stones
2- Beatles
3-Beach Boys

Led Zeppelin. I believe The stones(though are are quite good band) never reached the top of music. Name their magnus opus? Now I say Led Zeppelin because they truly transcended rock, even music themselves. THey were so diverse. From the moment Robert Plant opened his lips and uttered those immortal words"Hey, Hey mama said the way you move,
Gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove,My, my child when you shake that thing,
Gonna make you burn gonna makeyou sing!",
you knew you were in rock heaven. To the folk ballads of "The battle of Evermore" TO the manic vovals on"Black dog" and, to the spine tingling classic" Stairway to Heaven" Led Zeppelin showed the world the light.

Wow, how do you choose that one? I have a TON of respect for the Stones and everything they've done, but I have never been too into their music. There's so many greats I dig for so many different reasons.... sigh... but if I had to narrow it down to one favorite... I'd say Aerosmith
