Hi, Im 14 years old and i think this year June i started getting bumps between my bum and vagina.(not alot) I usually get them after my period. Sometime they get big and pop and go away. My doctor said it is normal but I donno cause last year we had a person come and talk about herpes and it sounds like it, but i never ever had sex before. What could be causing these bumps?

Seek a reputable OBGYN.

in grown hairs is the likely culprit. During puberty your hair gets coarser and grows faster. When a hair gets crazy and grows the wrong way you get bumps. Dont pick or squeeze em. You saying that you get them around your period is a good indicater that its hormones and crazy pubes growing wild. If you are really concerned see you doctor while you have a bump and they can test to make sure its not herpes or something. But dont worry too much I doubt its a STD.

See your Dr while you have the bumps, it is possible to get genital herpes from mouth herpes, washing your hands after touching a cold sore/mouth area will prevent the transfer. other wise it could be a number of things including boils, ingrown hairs and pimples. you can also have a second opinion. Good luck.

Its normal. My significant other gets them every now and then. We went to the doctor about it cause I was freaking out over it. Three doctors all say its normal.

could be acne...time for you to go to the Dr for a routine check up... no big deal.. it is also a good time to learn how your body works and learn how to look for signs when things go wrong

it is always a good thing for young women to be body aware
