No it isn't mandatory and no you cannot be punished for it by law. You could say that it is against your religion because you are a strict Christian and by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance you are being required to put your country before God, which is a huge sin! Commandment number one states, you shall have no other gods before me. You could also claim that by making you put your hand over your heart and look at the flag they are causing you to worship false idols. Commandment number two states, you shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or earth beneath or in the waters below. Both of these things would infringe on your constitutional religious rights under federal law. So no matter what a teacher or principal might tell you, they cannot override the federal government. I am not a Christian and I do not salute the flag or say the Pledge of allegiance, because of personal beliefs, but I respect and remember the people that died for my rights as much as anyone. Anyway, I hope this helps you some.

why do not you examine your information earlier than you unwittingly unfold anybody else's lies. I do not exceptionally trust Obama's role on many matters, however so far as I are aware of it is a whole lie that he does not pledge allegiance to the flag. I heard the rumor additionally that Hiliary is fairly a person or a lesbian however up to I despise her, I doubt that both of the ones 2 assumptions are precise -- good, um, I did get the Email, you already know. I noticed the images. I bet that have to be precise additionally, correct? No must permit information get in our approach, is there

In brief
No --it is not mandatory to show respect for the honorarium given to the one symbol in the world that has lead the way to end tyranny in every instance presented in the last two hundred years !! One of the main reasons that you are not working some state-run farm in Siberia---or digging some irrigation canal in Borneo for the Nazi Super Elite !! There is no law that says you HAVE TO remember the millions of those who have suffered and died for your rights to even question such an activity as getting up off your lazy *** to say thanks to their memory once in a blue moon ------------but thankfully---on your part---there is a law that forbids and protects you from someone beating your butt to a bloody pulp for showing disrespect in that manner-----which is probably what a good deal of people who do GET IT would really like to do !!!

certainly respectful to stand during patriotic functions or rituals, even if you don't like the God part being included in a patriotic action....the original framers did not intend that the God part be in any of government, just in the individual where it belongs....nobody is going to drag you off to a "retraining" camp if you don't show your patriotism. I don't think the school will punish you unless its a private religious school...at least they better not, if they punished my kid for that in school I'd show the principal my rights as well

its not by law but by man. what I mean by that is that it's not really encouraged by society to not stand up during the pledge of allegiance. And I agree with this America gave you your independence the least you can do is give them you're allegiance.

It may depend on where you live and what religion you are. Why would you not want to be a regular patriotic citizen of this great country when untold millions have given their life's blood for you to have the privilege? Nevertheless, if your religion has objections, I think you may have a written note from your parents to be excused from participation much like I had for being excused to dress out for gym.

Sorry pal, your question shorta got to me.
My question is;
Do you, or you don't stand up while it is been recited?
Because, if you believe that you can burn the Flag each time you dissagree with anything, then:
S i t d o wn
it doesn't really matter now dont' it?

Probably not, but I think it shows one's respect for the sacrifices made by a great many people in keeping our nation free. I personally find it disgusting to see slobs sitting on their asses during the pledge. They demonstrate only selfishness.

Same goes for the National Anthem.
