Not illegal per se, but definitly more of a moral issue. Some could say the couple is making money off their child, others could point out that the oney goes into raising the child. I wouldn't see how it would be a legal issue, but there have been dumber laws!!!

Why would it? You can get a tax rebate on your child if they go to college even though you don't pay a dime of their college. It's not illegal but definately not ethical.
