I just watched "Most Wanted," the movie Voight got nominated for a Razzie for being in. I also have seena few other movies with him in them recently. In every single one, he overacts so horrible bad as to make the movie almost farcical. It's the only reason he worked out so well in "Holes" his overacting fit the character.
So, is Jon Voight a terrible actor, or is it just me?

Obviously due to the answers, it's not just you. But you all must be alot younger than I am, because I think in his time, he was an especially good actor. He is older now, and I'm sure there is not that much good work available to him, which happens to the best of them! "Deliverance" and "Midnight Cowboy" have already been mentioned but most seem to have forgotten, he won the Oscar for his role in "Coming Home". For his performance in the movie "Champ", he received critical acclaim and I still cry every time I see it. He was also nominated for the Oscar in the films, "Runaway Train" and "Ali". So in my opinion he has proven himself to be a very talented actor and I for one love his work.

Jon Voight is a great actor. Sometimes they are miscast or it's the director. He's almost as versatile as Deniro. See Runaway Train (he was nominated) and then come back to Yahoo and tell me what you think.

I bought Jon Voight's car. He's was a very good actor once. Then he had to raise Angelina Jolie. That's enough to do any man in.

I haven't seen many John Voight movies, but I saw him in Heat and Ali and I thought he was a pretty good actor...

Sheez talk about let's get the **TALL POPPY** syndrome, it's alive and well in this forum,Jon has a distinctive style of acting maybe you miss this.
Deliverance ,Midnight Cowboy and others have all been good to me,I love his walking gait like John Wayne they have their own style..
Give the guy a break already you lot of knockers!!!!
He is also the Father of Angelina Jollie (sp)?so give him some credit..LOL..♥

He's been good in a few roles. Have you seen Midnight Cowboy or Conrack? He has gone through some changes as he has gotten older.

He always acts the same in every movie he's in. I never liked him after I saw Midnight Cowboy.

I liked him in Deliverance. Have you seen it? I'm assuming that you have. He was good in that, I thought. He's done some dumb movies, of late. He was totally unbelievable as Nickolas Cages' father in National Treasure.
