Because dancing is something people do that allows them to express themselves. In commercials, it is because it is an art form that is universally understood.

Because market reseach has found that women firmly believe that if a man sees other men dancing, he'll learn how. Maybe by osmosis.

They want you to believe that their product will make you so gleeful that you'll lose all your inhibitions and start singng and dancing about... That would be nice, but I've yet to have it happen.
