This depends in which format you keep the songs, whats the length of the songs, whether it is kept compress or not. These factors actually determine how many songs can be accommodated in 512MB space.
For example if songs are in "rm" format then 1 song only take space of 700kb, if "Mp3" format then it takes 4.5mb and the list continues.
Also the length or duration of song.Longer the duration the more space it consumes.
If one keeps songs in compressed way, then it saves a lot of space.

These sort of various factor actually determine how much songs can be accommodated in a given space

a 512 mb usually holds about 240 songs on the basis of a 4 minute kind of a song.. you'd have to give/take for the lengths of songs you are putting into it!

it depends on the format and the length of the songs.

You could be recording MP3's and have a bunch of extended versions or Oldies but goodies that are generally short in a .wav format....

see normally songs are about 4MB big so 512MB can contain about 128 songs on an average
