When I heard her perform it recently on some award show I couldn't believe the utter cheese and blatent copy of a already cheesey old school hip hop song 'SuperSonic' by JJ Fad. Did anyone else catch onto this maddness?

Well, Fergielicious is a rip of bootylicious and the back beat reminds me of Super Sonic. Also Fertado's new song sounds like a rip of "lovely lady lumps" (or whatever it's called ) by Fergie. Can't these people come up with anything fresh?

Bands putting tracks and samples into their own songs from older songs?

What a new concept!

As long as she credits the other band on the liner notes and pays a royalty then JJ Fad can't do a thing. Most bands that sample list the source material in the cd liner notes and pay for the use of a sample.

If i was a musician and someone liked a part of my song so much they wanted to use it then i'd be flattered. Many artists sample from Missy Elliott sampling The Cure to The Postal Service sampling Rod Stewart.

You make it sound like it's a crime. Ripping off songs means stealing a song without crediting someone. The artists you mention samples them, not rips or steals. Covering a song may give others an idea of no originality, but at the same time, it gives listeners a chance to re-listen a song at a different angle.

I think she should stick with the Peas and leave the solo thing to chicks like Gwen Stefani!

Oh my goodness...YES! I've been telling all my friends the exact same thing because they're like in love with that song. Finally, someone who agrees with me, thank you!
