Some varieties of music give off different "feels", emotions, or atmospheres. Some just tend to judge them differently. Angie Baby might tend to come across to some people as "Girly", in this case. Eurobeat may come across to some as "kiddish", while some Power Metal may strike others as "immature". Classical comes across to others as "scary"... it's a matter of taste, really.
At any rate, the judgement is up to you. However, there is a small standard to which songs are rated, following the loose standard of common sense. For instance, Disney songs aren't deep, emotional, philosophical songs; neither are Death Metal songs, light and carefree.

At first, reading "Are songs male or female", I was kinda confused. Just to say, that it's not my decision. It's how you interpret it (excuse my spelling), how you think about it, how you feel about it. For example, I interpret Metallica as music for guys and Jesse McCartney for girls and gays. But, some other people can disagree with that. It's all about what YOU think about it. I do agree for one that you can't categorize a song like a movie. I for one accept that. You've right, songs aren't chick flicks, but, you need to ask yourself: what do you think about this song? What do you think? That's just me. That's just me.

No way, its not that simple! You can't put a definite label like that on a song. I know plenty of straight guys that like "Toxic" by Britney, for example. And I know girls and gay guys that love Metallica. You just can't make it that cut and dry. Now, I will say: I don't think you'd find too many heterosexual males jammin to Hillary Duff!

I agree. Just because you can find the beauty in music, doesn't make you a chick - it just means that you're mature enough to appreciate good music no matter what.

no your friends cant' tell you that, music is music, if the person has talent and it's the kinda talent that appeals to you then it's ok for you to like it and not care if someone else thinks its 'girl music'.
