You can try one of 2 methods. One is to place some charcoal in it and let it sit outside in the sun closed up for about 3 days, after which time you empty it and run it through the dishwasher, but not through the drying cycle. The second method is to fill it with clean clay kitty litter and let it sit for a few days. Empty and wash it out. If this does not work, you need to buy her a new lunch box because the odors from the rotten foods she left in it have seeped beyond the topcoat of the plastic. Sorry.

I consistently packed their lunches... i might make potato salad as an occasion and placed parts in small packing containers, some cut back up fruit, crackers and cheese or sandwiches, the only cost have been those little juicy beverages, a baggie with fruit loops or cheerios, cucumber and tomato salad, carrot or celery sticks... i in no way placed soda or potato chips or something like that for the duration of there... if I made gazpacho i might fill a small thermos with it, observing the season, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries... a baggie with some moist wipes... yet then my childrens have been in no way complicated that way

Wipe out the lunch box with vanilla on a cloth. You can get it in a bottle in the cake section at the supermarket. It will get the smell out. If the lunch box has got mould on it, use x-mould.

Don't. If she left it there she should get the smell whenever she opens the lunchbox. It will teach her responsibility.
