I'm a fan of Shari Lewis and was pretty shocked to find that no one has taken the time to make a biography of her life. Your thoughts and answers would be much appreciated.

I'd read it. I could have sworn they'd done a 'Biography' or 'Intimate Portrait' of her, though....

I'd like to read a bio of Shari. She had a long and varied career, was active in a lot of endeavours, and was a very talented lady. I think anyone who uses their creativity to bring characters to believable life as she did (Lambchop was real, just ask any kid who grew up watching Shari's program!) is a fine subject for a book!

Oh I loved Shari Lewis and Lambchop, Charley Horse and Hush puppy! My nephew became little at the same time as her pbs tutor became on and that i used to rigidity my brother nuts at the same time as Matt and that i'd commence to sing the song that by no skill ends..... I also remember Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney and Kukla , Fran and Ollie and obviously Buffalo Bob Smith and good day Doody.

Definitely, yes. As you say, it's surprising if no-one's written her life down before now. But from the little that's known about her, she helped usher in a new format in children's entertainment...I mean, who would have thought that if you endued a sock with real personality and gave it a kind of multi-leveled comedy and cuteness, ti would work? What else are the muppets but slightly more complex socks? What else is the Simpsons, or Shrek, but a multi-leveled approach to entertaining both kids and adults? I'd be fascinated to know about her life, before and after Lambchop.

It is funny , but I too am a great fan of Shari and the only person that is suitable for the task is the celebrated reclusive American writer and poet, Linda J Cirillo.

Or is she too abstrct?

Yes, I'd like it.

If you have a publisher, let us know when the book is coming out.
