You should talk to your friend. Friends are suppose to be able to tell each other the truth, even if it means that she gets mad at you for saying something. Drugs, even pot, are very dangerous. Weed is definately a gateway drug-meaning that it has a huge possibility to lead her into other bigger, worse drugs. You should say something now and let her know that you know. Be there for her, but don't enable her to smoke weed. Good luck!

I wouldn't do anything, besides let her know you know, and that you don't approve -- as I'm assuming you don't. Try and gain some perspective. Marijuana isn't a really dangerous drug, most people try it, it's not much different then drinking, except drinking is legal. It's not really considered addictive like most harder drugs, it's just made out of plants, it's a natural thing. Smoking cigarettes is far far more dangerous but it's legal, go figure. I wouldn't be concerned unless this leads to something more serious, as it is known as the "gateway" drug.
This is coming from someone who has never done drugs, and I'm no longer a teenager.

I understand. I don't smoke. Would rather not anyway. You do not own your best friend. You can only mention that smoking weed takes her away from her studies/important things like her future. Remind her that the better she does now- the easier things will be after college.

maybe you should try talking to her about it but not in an abvious way. You could start telling stories about what drugs do to you and then you could say I am glad we dont do drugs. Maybe she will then relize what she is doing to herself and stop. If she still continues smoking you should emmidietly tell someone like and adult (her mom, relitave) before youa dn her get hurt. And if she is a true friend when she finds out that you told she will forgive you because she will know that you did it for the best reason.

smoking weed is not something bad in this life. it's just a thing that makes you thing it's bad. if your friend still act regularly and still treat you the same way as she used to. Don't worry about that. You need to be with her most the time, I think she needs you to with her now on. You can help her out from this situation, make her understand more about life, do a lot activity such as go camping, more to nature.
I hope it helps you...
pray for her...

just talk to her about it, and tell her how you feel... weed is a gateway drug (yes, i know it was previously mentioned, but it is true) and it's even more dangerous (psychologically) to females than males, show her some of the effects of it, and you need to make sure that you would be able to say "no" because most likely at one point or another she's gunna offer you some. I would hate to see someone go through the same **** that i had to. Good luck, to both of you.

Well, it's not an automatic that she'll turn into the "Just Say No" drug add. Just talk to her. I have a best friend with a degree in Bio Chemistry who smokes weed. So , just talk to her and make sure she'd ok and still focusing on her future.

My best friend also smokes weed, to my dissaproval. The main thing is that you make sure you know what your rules are for yourself, because you never know when your friend may pop the question "wanna smoke?" Its hard to say no, especially because its your friend. You can try to talk to her about it, but if she doesn't want help then there is not much you can do... Just make sure to contact an adult or someone your friend trusts if her smoking gets out of control....okay?
Good luck!

She's probably smoking, because she has friends (who are not associated with you) that smoke. Point out the good things about her,and tell her about them, and in the same conversation, tell her how smoking weed, and doing any type of drugs, will ruin not only her appearance, but her future as well.

High School! What a great time. Keep your head on straight. Don't give in to peer pressure. If she chooses to get high--Whatever!! Talk to her. Tell her what you think. If she doesn't want to stop, just explain to her, that's not you. Ask her to keep those habits to herself. Once you both go off to college you'll make new friends. Your life won't be stuck in High school mode forever.

Tell her just what you've told us. That you're worried about her losing interest in college and her future . Try and find out why she started using. Maybe she will stop if she knows that you are very concerned. Good Luck.
