he couldn't distance himself fast enough, said it was full of fiction, lies, and a direct attempt to rewrite history. Why did Carter do it? did he not think it would be challenged?

His desire to be remembered as a "great man" overcame any common sense he ever had. Maybe if he had done his job as president people would remember him.

Professor (Stine) resigned...big surprise...lol...who is being biased now?
Hardly any pro -Zionists liked what Carter had to say, and the professor knows his circle of influence, and the pressure to refute Carter I am sure was tremendous.
EDIT: HERES SOME FACTS FOR YOU...
"Has the U.S. used its Security Council veto approximately 40 times in support of Israel, sometimes standing alone with Israel against the rest of the world? Can you give an example?"

That has happened and it still happens. Just look at the past 40 attempted UN resolutions against Israel. The US veto'd all of them. I can't answer the other 2 questions because I don't know and I don't feel like doing hours of research trying to find the answer.

But I will tell you that Israel has violated dozens of international laws, they've stolen a s*** load of land with their fence, and the US has given them unconditonal support. Lets not forget to add the fact that Israel has slaughtered 1000s of Palestinian unarmed civilains with its unlawful military operations and so far no one has been held accountable except for a slap on the wrist for the individual soldiers.

This is completely normal. When someone publishes something controversial, their aides may resign because the book disagrees with their individual beleifs. This doesn't mean that the book is full of lies or that Jimmy Carter is a liar. It's the same as me writing a book that supports abortion and my friends who are anti-abortion stop talking to me. Use some common sense people.

Guess he got mad at his aide so decided to write the book. Just out of curiosity how do you think his aide would have looked if he didn't resign. That would have given the Palestine that much more ammo! Don't you think his aide owed it to his fellow Jewish community to resign?

I think it's more interesting that the CURRENT PRESIDENT couldn't keep Colin Powell due to all the deceit concerning an ACTUAL WAR...

sorry I'm talking about ACTUAL POLITICIANS MAKING DECISIONS NOW...

oh, and to answer your question... not particularly...

Yes, the man didn't want to be part of the lies and hate presented in the book.

Arrogance.

He is smarter than you and he is not about to let a little thing like truth interfere with his condescending message.

I think it is very interesting. I also suspect that Carter is senile & has been for some time.
