Since I only select the questions on subjects about which I have enough knowledge to be able to offer something, and since the people who asked the question on the subject apparently feel they need someone else's input on it, I would venture to say that on the questions I choose to answer I may have more experience or knowledge than the people who asked that particular question do.

There are any number of categories from which I stay away because I am well aware that there are many, many, people who are more knowledgeable than I am who should be answering those questions.

Sometimes, though, even on the questions I try to answer I find all I can offer is an opinion or else more questions the person may want to consider. Some questions are so serious or sad that I answer in an attempt to find some kind of feedback to offer; while I don't feel at all confident in my ability to offer anything really useful.

I think much of the time questions on here require experience or knowledge and not necessarily an intelligence beyond those very specific things.

When I answer questions it is either because I think its kind of nice to try to challenge myself while trying to come up with the best answer I can think of or else because I have television on (which doesn't particularly grab me these days) and figure its kind of nice to also try to help someone in some way in view of the vegetation factor involved with having bad television on.

Having said all of that.....

I'm no dummy. :) (I do, however, have my dummy moments.)

I wouldn't characterize it as being smarter than everyone else. It's just that if you study a particular subject for many years, you have knowledge about that subject beyond what the average person knows.

My IQ is only about 115, which means there are MANY people smarter than me. But probably not that many that have studied psychology as in-depth as I have. You can have a 160+ IQ and still know nothing about a particular subject. Does that answer your question!?
