Anybody can!

But I always try to remember (not always successfully) two sayings:
"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!" Not literally pointing, but verbally blaming is how we most often do it.
"There, but for the Grace of God, go I" Again, not literally pointing a finger but making a point "you" wouldn't have screwed up the way "s/he" did is blaming. BUT, when you really think about it from 'hindsight'(i.e., after all the facts are known!), maybe you need to be quiet - it could have been you in the hot-seat, and you might have made an even bigger mess!

If you've ever been in a really heated exchange, you will have seen fingers literally pointed by one or more of the parties involved.
Again I think of what was told to me as a child about pointing - There's only one finger aimed at the other person. The rest of the fingers are aimed back at you! It serves to make you think:-
Is ALL the responsibility that of the person getting the blame?
What part, if any, did YOU play in the situation?
And, as I said above, would YOU have done better - or worse!?!?

My opinion is that if your in a situation that requires you to place blame thenyou were doign something you knew you shouldn't have been doing...so I say keep your trap shut and learn how not to get caught...right?? (not meaning you but people in general including myself)

just remember that when you point, there are 3 fingers pointing back at you!

I'm more of a whistle blower type. Fingerpointing puts muscle stress on my arms.
