we are born with an innate sense of beauty, yes. it is determined in our brains that perfectly simmetrical and proportionate is beautiful. at the same time, what we grow up with as young children will affect our sense of beauty, ie your mother's face and father's build will seem more attractive to you. Also, for nature, there is actually a mathematical ratio, something like 1:1.3... it makes sense, look at your fingers... the tip would be 1 part, the next one would be 1.3 times the size of the first, the second part would be 1 and the third 1.3 times the size of the second one, so on and so forth... same with the upper and lower arms, legs, torso... even our face, the forhead is 1 part, the lower part (eyes down) is 1.3 times the size of the forhead of the 'perfect' face... check it out,,, it's kinda interesting....

I do think you you are born with a certain appreciation of self. Its the people you encounter in your lifetime that positively/ negatively influence that feeling.
