the current version does not. but there will be an upgraded japanese version that will. Also its totally cool.

at the moment the wii cannot play dvds or other kinds of movies. this doesnt mean they wont add it, there has been talk about nintendo releasing it as a download in the wii shop. but also you got to see it from nintendos point of view, how many people buy a nintendo wii because of the video player and how would the wii look if it had one O_o

As of now, No. But Nintendo might release a DVD player add-on for the Wii in the future. But I think that's only in Japan. Still kind of pointless to make a DVD player since just about everybody has a DVD player. Who's willing to spend a extra money for a DVD player for the Wii?

dont listen to db he is a ****** asshole the wii rocks and the ps3 has so many problems like it over heats in like one day
