Yes its from Highlander, The Kurgan says it when they are both in the church where they are not allowed to fight because they are on Holy Ground.
Excellent film shame about the sequels.

I believe the singer Neil Young was the first person to come out with the line, it's better to burn out than fade away. It has also been referenced as a question in the movie "High Fidelity," and others say it was in the movie, "Highlander."

This line is from the movie "Highlander." It was said by the antagonist Kurgan in a church.

"I have something to say! It's better to burn out, than to fade away!"

(The first movie was great, see the extended version if you can. The other movies were just bad.)

If you want other quotes from that movie:

Highlander.
It's in the song "Gimme the Prize" from the Queen album "A Kind of Magic."
The guy who plays the Kurgan is Clancy Brown and is also the voice of Mr Crab in Spongebob Squarepants (how's that for totally random?).

Highlander - the Kurgan says it as he leaves the church after his summit meeting with Conor Macleod.

Shortly before that he comes up with the other immortal line: "Nuns - they have no sense of humour."
