Prince Philip is NOT married to HRH Queen Elizabeth. He is married to H.M. Queen Elizabeth II.

She is a Queen; therefore she is Her Majesty, NOT Her Royal Highness.

She is NOT a Queen Consort, the wife of a King. She is Queen Regnant, a Reigning Queen. A Reigning Queen is the highest position in a Monarchy, therefore her husband is NOT a King.

Prince Philip does not become a King because He is not a the son of a Sovereign of the United Kingdom. HRH The Prince Charles is the son of a Sovereign of the United Kingdom.

Philip wasn't in line to be king. I think it may have been Elizabeth's' choice whether to make him a king. Not sure of that, tho.

Charles will become king because his mother is the queen. Direct bloodline.

I think he may choose not to be king, but might abdicate, let William take the throne. He's not been very popular with the citizenry, since he married Camilla.

there's a large difference between the Monarch who should be King or Queen or both interior the case of William and Mary (who ruled at the same time from 1689-1695) and the consort of the Monarch who interior the case of the spouse of a king may be queen consort. The husband of a queen doesn't have the right to any call. He may keep his own (King Phillip of Spain and Queen Mary or Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha who married Queen Victoria). Queen Victoria gave Albert the call Prince Consort as well as his own call. Prince Phillip turned right into a Prince of Greece and Denmark earlier he married Princess Elizabeth, heiress presumptive to the throne.(in common words presumptive because if a brother were produced he may take priority in spite of age). He renounced his titles 8 months earlier marrying in 1947 so as that he ought to grow to be naturalised British and keep on at the same time with his occupation interior the military (he ought to no longer do it as a overseas nationwide after the conflict) or perhaps even with the truth that he may have familiar he became marrying the Princess anybody envisioned her father the King to stay a sturdiness. He became created Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich on the eve of his marriage. He wasn't created a Prince of the united kingdom till 1957 10 years after his marriage. Princess Elizabeth had grow to be Queen 5 years earlier after her father died in 1952. different countries with a royal kinfolk have an identical custom. look on the Netherlands, they have had 3 queens in succession - each and each and every of their husbands became given the call of Prince even if born to it or no longer.

Because a king outranks a queen and thus, he must be a prince. Prince Charles becomes king because his mother was the queen and he is her son.

He is the husband, the husband has no ties with the royal family except that he is, well, Queen Elizabeth's husband. but Charles is the son of the Queen therefore future King! He has the "royal blood" so to speak.
