If you continue to feed the baby breast milk and baby is drinking alot of it then the supply can keep going to the breast for at least a couple of years.
If you stop or slow down the amount of breast milk you feed your baby it will dry up of its own accord.
EDIT: If you are breastfeeding your bub and you fall pregnant again - no the milk supply wont dry up. It will continue to produce. Seek advice from your doctor though about feeding breastmilk in the last trimester of your pregnancy. Nipple stimulation (from baby sucking) can supposedly bring pre-term labour on. So ask your doctor if you can still breastfeed when you are at fullterm preg.

I've had four children, breastfed them all. Only way to get it to stop was to tightly bind my breasts for several weeks except while showering. I did this with a sports bra that was way too small. Others suggested ace bandages but I couldn't get them to stay up. Even now, four years since my last I wouldn't squeeze them too much or I think maybe a tiny bit might come out. Don't know for sure but it did after not nursing for a year. Haven't checked again because they certainly don't leak on their own or anything at this point. Just bind them up tight (uncomfortable but not misserable) for a good 2 weeks and you shoud be done.

It can take even up to a few years to dry up completely. My youngest son is 19 months now and I still "drip" sometimes. The best advice I can give you is to not have any kind of breast stimulation...this can just cause more milk production. Congrats on the new baby. Hope it helps!

Breast milk dries up a couple of weeks after you stop nursing. It pretty much stays until you dont need it.
Very slight leaking can occur for years afterwords.
In some cases, a womans milk can dry up early, for a variety of reasons, such as a new pregnancy.

As long as you continue to nurse it can stay for years & years if you nurse. If you are not, then you should get a cheap breast pump & pump your breasts as well as keep them tight to your body w/ a few tight sports bras or wrap them tightly w/ a ace bandage

I breastfed my son for 14 mos. For 2 years after I weaned.....I could still get drops of milk if I simply pinched/squeezed my nipples.
So I wonder myself if it EVER stops!!! LOL!
Good luck!

SOUNDS CRAZY BUT THIS WORKS. IF YOUR NOT BREAST FEEDING ANY MORE AND U DON'T WISH TO JUST PUT CABBAGE (YES RAW CABBAGE) INTO YOUR BRAW AND COVER YOUR NIPPLES. IT WILL DRY YOUR MILK UP IN LIKE A WEEK.
