Learning is not hard at all, TRAINING your fingers is a little more difficult. Building your calluses takes time, patience and determination. When your finger tips hurt, play for 10 more minutes...

I recomend getting an acoustic first. The necks are a little wider, and it will force you to stretch more than an electric such as the Strat. (making it easier to play an electric later, if you choose) Fender makes a great acoustic as does Seagull and Ovation. (plus, any acoustic can be made electric with a good pickup later)
The Strat is probably the most universal electric, but there are MANY great guitars available.
Do not ignore the used market, as some great deals can be found. I agree with Don above, a used Taylor would be a great buy!
Go to your library or do a search online, of the different guitars available.

I'm self taught so I kinda know.
For most people they find it pretty easy at first and of cours eit gets harder as you wish to advace to harder stuff liek picking and solos. If you really want to learn guitar however I think there are some thigns you should really need to truely advace to a decent stage.
1. People who know about Guitars or music. These peoepl will help you out the most whether theyre friends with advice or a teacher of some sort. Make sure theyre actual peopel you can interact with in person it makes all the difference.
2. The Music. make sure you have a style in mind and then branch from there, and make sure to delve into that music like crazy listening to the guitar carefully and making sure its something you like. If you dont like the music your playing your not gonna enjoy plkaying guitar.
3. Money. Its a big investment as you progress but in the beginning a few hundred bux should keep you going.

On a hardness scale out of 1 to 10 Id give it a good even 5. While something such as the piano would be at an 8 and the violin being around a 9.
Its easier if your dedicated and you love what you do.
But no matter what you do especially for Guitar Practice is crucial. I fyou dont yoru muscels wont remember fingering positions and strumming patterns and you wont progress at all.

How long it takes to learn guitar depends on how good you want to get and how much practice you put in. How good you can get with 1-2 hours a day for a few months depends on what methods you use to practice. There are effective practice methods that will help you make the best use of your time. This course is one of the best. https://bitly.im/aMSYf It's not just about how much you play but how effectively you play that will determine how good you will get.

I've knew how to play guitar since the age of 7 years old. Learning guitar takes practice but it turns out to be pretty easy after awhile. And since you're a beginner you'd need an acoustic guitar. You would probably want to take lessons.

Great decision!!! Not hard at all to learn - just don't give up. The instrument makes a lot of sense, too, and once you learn the basics you'll be amazed at how easy it is to play a bunch of stuff. As for recommendations, I say to get started go acoustic and used. A used Taylor on your local Craigslist would be the place to start. Good luck.

When I began, I though it was so difficult, but just 1 year passed, and I was playing very well. You shouldn't give up, because at the end it's all worth it.

It's not hard, for beginners, you should get a fender squier strat or tele. Strats are for more rock and telecasters for country, but teles can play rock, too.
