I can't speak for the education systems of all of Europe but in Germany the system does have some advantages over the American system. In the US system we expect all students to prepare for college, despite the students' desires or abilities. In Germany, students who do not have the talent or desire to excel in a university have the opportunity to learn a trade. The public education system has skill training and apprenticeships so people can learn anything from construction to being a fashion seamstress. All of this is provided without making those students go through some bullsh!! algebra and physics courses they will never use in their professions. Hope this helps.
