Who appoints the so called 'black leaders'?

Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Michael Steele, Bill Cosby and Clarence Thomas are people who should be role models. But all you ever see are the liberals. Why is it that the media only recognize a direct handout as help? Why is it that a truly helpful message, a work ethic to live by is not viewed as helpful? What is dignified about a handout?

Jordan and Woods are both very good role models. Neither tend to address political topics presumably to protect their images.

I HELLBENT think the black leaders just appointed themselves by having the biggest mouth and stirring up the most trouble.
Cosby advocates responsibility and hard work.
Jackson cries racism all the time and fosters a sense of entitlement in the black community.

Who would you rather listen to?
Cosby = work
Jackson = entitlements

If the liberal media recognized Bill Cosby and Clarence Thomas as leaders, they would have to stop calling the party of personal responsibility racist.

Liberal white journalists- the same ones who have the knowledge, skill, heart and soul to appoint Gore as President ( they're still miffed at that getting messed up by that silly "election".)

People are only allowed to be role models if they are Liberals, Because the rest of the world, no matter how successful, generous, educated are all evil conservatives!

The only way we could take that power away from them would be to have one of their heroes take over the country, like Hugo Chavez or the "NEW and IMPROVED" Castro. Then those Liberla leftists whoudl strip them of their right to free press. the only bonus out of that for the liberla journalists is that's they'd likely all get jobs in the Communist Cabinet!

The market appoints them. Sadly, people supporting leaders who would do things for them that they should be doing for themselves is not a problem limited to liberals.
Or, if your like me, you choose to label people by their actions, not by the labels they give themselves. In which case it seems that the majority of the United States is pretty liberal.\

Everybody seems to want something. Luckily, in a free market (with a few provisions to keep the minority from getting run over) competition for all available resources is ok. We all get the chance to try to get what we want!

Current black leaders are lightning rods that sell papers and boost TV ratings when they make a move. It's all about the money when it comes to journalism. The very best thing you can d is refuse to watch every single news channel, read free newspapers, listen to the radio when gathering your news. Support non-newstainment to get things changed. It's called voting with your wallet.

I think they appoint themselves. That has to be it, who's going to appoint Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson or Kwasi Enfume (I know I spelled that wrong) to hall monitor much less a leadership position? I agree with the names you mentioned, those are great men and would be great leaders.
