What's the best way to try to meet a band?

I'm going to a concert with my sister on her birthday, and it'd be really cool if she got to meet the band, get some autographs. What's the best way to try to meet a band before/after a show?

There aren't really V.I.P or backstage passes for this. I've been looking :-(

If you can't get passes to a meet and greet, or something like that, then hang out around the back of the venue near where the busses are. Sometimes, the band will oblige anyone there with a photo or an autograph. If the band is doing an in-store, go there. Find out which radio station in the area is sponsoring the band/doing an interview and see if they can hook you up somehow.

Actually the waiting near the back entrance/tour bus thing works. Though if any members in the band you're going to see are reclusive or shy (or arrogant and rude), you probably won't meet them! Some will NOT ever come out for fans, no matter how long you wait.

And you might end up waiting for a while, as well--which isn't so nice in cold weather, or in the early morning!

If the band you're going to see is pretty big, though... they might have the back area sectioned off, so you won't be able to wait there anyway.

I never met any band, but from what I heard from others when they meet my favorite band. They go to where the buses are parked and wait forever till they come out. And trust me it works, because everyone who stayed after the show got a pic or an autograph. So when they come back to the U.S for tour, I'm going to do that.

to buy backstage tickets or usually they have signings after the concert OR listen to a radio station and they might have a contest to get backstage passes
