why are they both getting infected... shouldn't they counter each other

I dont know where you heard that. If anything you will just make your condition much worse. The black widow venom (neurotoxin) would line you up and the rattlesnake venom (myotoxin/haemotoxin) would knock you down (no pun intended)
Black widow venom is not fatal to someone in descent physical health, whereas rattlesnake venom can be. The black widow venom would weaken you so much that the rattlesnake venom would kill you in record time.
oh, and its venom, not poison, caterpillars and frogs use poison, it has to be ingested in order to affect you, venom attacks the bloodstream, FYI
You should maybe contact the Darwin awards before actually trying this, they would be happy to write about your little misadventure Im sure of that!

I'm guessing it would hurt. Usually spider bites have holes where the person was bitten. Eventually it spreads and you can tell when it does. It won't look too lovely. The best thing to do is go to the doctor if you think you have a spider bite.

No. The widow's venom is a neurotoxin, while the rattle snakes venom is hemotoxic, unless it is a tropical rattler. So, another case of ignorant death, unless you are a healthy young male, then you may have a slim chance. Get your affairs in order.

First off if you were bitten by a black widow, you would not be asking this question, you would be dead. The only way to counter a black widow bite is with an antivenin derived from the poison of a black widow. Because the industry produces very little, you are only entitled to one treatment over your lifetime. Most of the labs that produce this antivenin are family run home based business.
