Federal minimum wage has been $5.15/hr since 1996. Some states have voted for higher minimums.

Cost of living goes up an average of 3% each year. If minimum wage went up with the cost of living, it would be almost $7.00 now.

The national minimum wage is $5.15 an hour and has been for years. It can vary, however, from state to state and city to city. It's the highest in Santa Fe, New Mexico - $9.50 an hour! Cost of living also varies from city to city.

5.15 its been this way since 1996, 10 years of inflation and everything else good luck. Not many people make minimum wage except high school kids, people who are drop outs, and illegals.
