the differences i mean here is the potentiometer reading...highest to lowest are:rubber tubing(0.8 V), porous cup(0.3 V) and thread(0.05 V)...so what accounts for these differences? pls. be specific and better if you could state your reference...tnx a lot!

A salt bridge is put there to allow the movement of ions. This is necessary to counteract the movement of electrons in the external circuit. The salt bridge must therefore be able to hold solutions of ions. I am sure that you can now interpret your data in terms of the material you used as the salt bridge being able to soak up electrolyte. The physical dimensions are not so important, as not much current actually flows anywhere in this sort of experiment.
