okay I started last year and my best was 12ft (it stinks, I know, but I made it to prelims) I heard the answer about the velcro straps or whatever you where during the day and take off during meets for high jump, are they also for long jump? where can I get some?

The best thing I can suggest is to practice the form and and the speed before take-off... a lot of long jumpers try to jump out instead of up... it does not work like this... you want to jump high the speed of your run will make you go further... as for commercial trends... they arent that effective and in my opinion a waste of time and money although you can go to vaultworld.com and find a link to one
