Should decisions about going to war be based on how much they will cost?
We need air bases, and military bases w/ troops, and heavy equipment on the ground in the middle east ,to handle the problems that will surely arise there.

I will concede that he has allowed out of control spending. But with regard to the first answer...What bad economy?

Unemployment is very low, personal wealth is increasing and the tax cuts have caused lots more revenue to the federal government than expected.

If anything the question outlines more the reason Republicans lost. Bush's own base held republicans responsible for out of control spending, lack of real action on illegal immigration and poor performance in the war.

Government spending has NEVER been a model of a "business setting." To compare it to a well run business is not really fair. And yes, Bush overspends, but so does every politician. Even the voters of America overspend when they vote for unfunded mandates on the ballot. They may not know it, but unless the issue states where the money is coming from to enforce/implement the issue more money will be spent in the form of more taxes collected,.

I suppose the mean old liberal haters would recognize the mean old conservative haters if they ever met. I will concede nothing to an obviously biased person looking for his own answer. I will say that I personally am in the best financial shape I have ever been in, after a real slump during the Clinton years.

I would say he was forced into a situation where he had to spend more than normal, simply because of unforseen circumstances such as 9/11, the resulting war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq (say what you will) and Hurricane Katrina...

After they got control of Congress, the GOP couldn't wait to run up government spending to payoff their political constituants, along with cutting taxes so those same cronies had to pay less taxes on those payoffs.

When the government use to go to war...they use to sell bonds to finance it. Today our government just passed the bill the future generation of Americans to payoff for us. Nice move.

What do you call the raping of the American taxpayer for forty years under democratic administrations to sustain one failed social program after another?

Doctors used to bleed patients. Bad medicine. Bad government.

Compel people to work for what they earn, and leave charity to the hearts and wills of those who have earned their daily bread and wish to share.

We value those things for which we've worked, and we have contempt for those things handed to us. Witness teenagers. Witness those who live in government owned housing. As always, wake up.

P.S. Dare to eat a peach. If you have one left over, give it, if you're generous, to someone who ain't got one, my identity stealing friend.
