I had a bahn mai in Oakland, my friend raved about it forever. I ended up loving it and got 10 sandwichs to go. At only $2 each, I could even afford a cooler and ice to transport it for the 7 hour drive home.

I tried one at a place here in Ventura, but it was crap. Not that it wasnt like the previous ones Ive had, it was just crap-the sauce was like teriyaki and there was no cilantro, no onion, no jalapeno..it was just chicken, crap sauce and carrots and daikon! Come on!

I live in Ventura and am in Los Angles frequently, any suggestions on a good sandwich?

Check out Vietnamese Restaruants. I had one from a restaurant offof Spring Street. I have heard of some taste treats from restaurants in Westmister in Orange County. OC is your best bet but call first. Google for a directory
