I was told during HSG both my tubes were blocked. The hubby and I decided on IVF I am now 6 weeks pregnant. Is it possible for the growing uterus to some how cause blocked tubes to become unblocked. Has anyone heard of this or experienced it?

Would love to know

My tubes are blocked as well, and I conceived my baby boy through the miracle of IVF.

I am sad to say that it would take a medical miracle for the pregnancy to unblock your tubes. But congrats on the successful IVF! You know what this means? You and I never have to worry about birth control. ;-)

Where are your tubes blocked? Near the uterus or at the fimbriated end? If the blockage is at the end, like mine are, then surgery will not help. The fimbriated ends are dead, and the tubes are more than likely filled with fluid.

Did your RE say anything to you about removing the tubes before going through with IVF? They usually recommend that.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Maybe the HSG caused your tubes to become un-blocked and not the IVF.I TTC for two years and right after I had the HSG I became pregnant.Sometimes the solution they use during the procedure unblocks the tube.I lost the baby at 20 weeks and my tubes became blocked once again.I did the HSG once again and now im 17 weeks pregnant.SO I do think a growing uterus or pregnancy period can some how relate to tubal blockage.

Tube Unblocked

Well, I'm not a doctor so I can't say for sure, but I don't think so. I can't think of a possible mechanism or reason why that could happen.

If they're blocked, they're blocked, and the only way to unblock them is surgery.

congrats on the baby. a growing uterus probably won't unblock fallopian tubes. To do so would indicate they were "kinked" somehow. The blockage is usually a collapse of the tube and not just a kink.

Hi I don't know about England but can you not ask for a referral to a fertility clinic, surely somebody can arrange this for you ? I would contact your GP and make an appointment to get the information that you are entitled to . I know that you can have fertility treatment in India and other places and I believe that it is a lot cheaper there, but you would have to look into this carefully.Good luck

wow! thats like mutation right there. The human body is amazing. I wouldnt put anything past it. I once regenerated my amputated arm. It took a few years but now its back and better then ever.
