Anytime a person refers to another person by using a derogatory or racist epithet, they are showing the world their lack of class and sophistication.

The fact that a large portion of our society does this as a casual way of speaking simply validates the theory that the masses are stupid, and are getting more so. The fact that people are embracing this way of speaking thinking it's "cool" only reinforces the stupidity theory.

I am Caucasian. I do not ever use the word, and I admonish people I know when I hear them use it. There's no excuse for intentionally behaving like an ignoramus because it happens to be trendy.

The word has absolutely no power unless you give it power. I am not a N**ger I am however an intelligent black woman who has former slaves as ancestors, but was not raised with a slave mentality. I have been refereed to as a N**ger by someone racist before however it did not have a profound effect I felt the person who used the word was more of a backwoods openly ignorant and educated person, so why give someone of this caliber the satisfaction of getting upset? You give your power to people when you allow them to make you angry...

Depends on which N word - one ending in -er or -a. To me both are not acceptable in my house, but -er is an absolutely horrible word that shouldn't be used anywhere. My daughter is biracial and if I hear it I'm offended for her and my husband and for what their ancestors went through....I'm white.

-a is overused and derogatory and just un-neccessary.

I am Asian. If you mean the word "Nazi" it reminds me of "Nippon".Japanese invasion around 60 yrs ago and "Nagasaki" got bombed just so the Japanese gave up.
It's a door we close behind and we don't think much about it anymore since Japanese has tried to make up for their past mistakes. The wound is healed but not the scar.
You can ask the Jews about the first "N".

I'am Black. I hate when people of all races say that word, i don't use it myself. It makes me very mad when someone calls me that or say it in my face. It makes me even sadder when i hear black people say it. And it is over used. and thamks for saying the N-word.
