Most everyone knows The Lottery but few have read her extremely funny book entitled Life Among the Savages, a real-life account of her life with her husband and kids. It's hard to reconcile the disparity between the two writings...one so chilling, one so laugh-out-loud comical. Did she also write We Have Always Lived in the Castle? Another chilling book. I seem to remember a book of very good short stories, too. To answer your question, yes I loved Shirley Jackson; she certainly died too young.
