In football when you give someone a stiff arm are you allowed to touch the helmet or facemask? Thanks.

So long as they are running into you. I believe that if you are in motion, with arms going toward someone's head and hit the upside the helmet, you will be called for a flagrant foul. If however you are firmy planted in place and raise up your arms just before they get to you (a true stiff arm) then you should be okay.

While using a "stiff arm", the runner may hit the opponet's facemask or helmet providing that the runner does not grab hold the the tackler's facemask. The runner is also not allowed to grab any opening (the earhole or base of the helmet). The rule for facemasking applies to anyone who grabs and holds an opponet's facemask or helmet opening.

Lol, I'm sure you can hit the facemask in High school as long as you don't curl your fingers on it, and just tap the head, it gets you the same thing.
Fyi, if you're gonna play football don't think about stiff arms, Theres only really one situation you can use it, just put your head down and get hit.

You can push against the helmet or facemask, you just cant grab onto it

In the NFL, the ballcarrier is allowed to touch the helment or facemask during a stiffarm.
