i have this problem. Everytime ( and like EVERTIME) i touch something metallic, a doorknob, a car, a cash machine, i get a slight electrical shock. Now, it seems funny, my friends call me an alien and everything, but it becomes really annoying after a while and i m always afraid to touch metal caus of the shocks. What is wrong with me? is it smthing in my blood or what? am i an alien?

Its your shocking personality!!! haha wow I'm not sure what to tell you. Do you drag your feet when you walk? If so, you'd get a shock when you touch things. How about your socks, do you tend to wear extra fuzzy ones that might cause more static? I'd say the first thing to try is paying attention to your walking. Lift up your feet, no dragging or sluffing them on the ground when you step. Good luck!! MMM and you might want to have an ECG done at the Doctor just to make sure the old ticker is normal.

No. You DON'T get electrocuted everywhere! If you did, you'd be dead and you would not be able to write this question.

As far as your shocks are concerned, try using Snuggles or a similar product when you dry your clothes. This controls static electricity which not only causes shocks, it causes pants to look all wrinkled up. Try changing footwear. I used to have some sandals that were comfortable. I had to throw them out because whenever I wore them, everything I touched would give me a shock. Increase humidity if you can - dryness causes the shocks.

It's that time of the year when the cold weather is keeping a lot of windows closed, thus the air inside is dryer. This generates a lot of static electricity against the human body.

you have an electric personality.

or

You could be wearing too many synthetic fibers. Static electicity tends to build more around synthetic fibers and when you touch anything metalic or person, the electric charge shoots from you hands.
