Perhaps your local curfew, since any violations will lead to punishment not only from you, but for you (the parent, that is).

Other than that you should probably make sure everything else is out of the way first. Don't let him outside if he's failing math. You make him do his homework and study his lecture notes/read the text. If he has a problem with never going outside then have his friends parents send their kids over for group study sessions- kids hate them but where's their argument?

And as far as things that could take time away, let's say taking out the trach the day before, let him take it out at night after he's had fun. Dishes can wait, as long as they're done- other disciplinairy restrictions are to be enforced.

Try to instill these everyday virtues so he developes as many responsible capabilites and habbits so both of you are prepared when he turns 18- because then it's much harder since he's his own man.

When I was in high school, my sister and I (sixteen and seventeen, respectively) had a flexible curfew on weekends of around 1:00pm. My mom never forced us to be in by a certain time, because she was afraid we'd end up rushing home and prehaps be a little reckless. I'm a swimmer, so she never had to worry about me on the week days, I always needed to pass out by like, 10 anyway. I'm a freshman in college now, and I still swim. Not much has changed. It's 10:30 now and I'm just barely staying awake. <<--(very irrelevent bit right there...lol)

11:00 pm on weeknights a million:00 am weekeends whilst he's eighteen: No curfew I might desire to upload that I in no way had a curfew becoming up. till I grew to become 18, my mom did assume me to tell her the place i replaced into going, and the final time i could be homestead. This worked ok for the the two one individuals, and that i in no way have been given into any hardship.

well i see no point in a curfew when he is almost 18 but I would say 11 on school days and monday through thursday and mid night on friday and saturday and 10 on sunday so he can get ready for school and all that.. If he is still in school because I know alot of kids his age who are not in school.

I would say midnight but be careful he will be 18 soon and if you don't want him to rebel just try asking him if he thinks it's OK and if it's not ask him what is and find some happy middle ground

It depends on the laws in your state/city and why he is going to be out that late! He is still under age and no matter what his cufew is parents should have some idea of where he is and what he is doing!
