Reasearch the company and ask questions from what you learn. (eg expansion to other markets, career advancement etc)

Bring extra copies of your resume with you in case more than one person interviews you. Bring a copy for yourself as well and lay it front of you so you can reference facts you wrote about on it. (eg "As you can see on my resume, I have my food handlers license") You can get binders that have clear pages in them to hold all your papers together and it looks really sharp.

Let your references know what job you are applying for. That way when they get a call, they are not surprised and they can phrase their own answers the right way.

Dress up a bit. Employers HATE when someone shows up in jeans. I have SEEN people apply and show up for interviews in sweats. I dont care if it is for a car washing position, dress pants/skirt and a nice top. Nothing low cut, no skirts more than 2 inches above your knees. (rule of thumb, wear the skirt and kneal on the floor, the hem should hit the floor)

Shake their hand. Practice this and dont it forgranted. A lot of people think they have a good handshake, but it feels like a limp fish.

Come about 10 mins before your interview. That way you show you are interested in the job without being too eager.

SMILE! :) Act confident even if you are not. Pretend you have th job already. :)

Good luck to you!

Be neat in appearance. Use good manners. Listen very hard. Pause before speaking. Smile. Act confident and speak clearly and properly, a little loudly if necessary.

Try to build a rapport with the interviewers. It's ok to make only a very light bit of small talk.

Once I bombed on an interview by making a joke so I would advise you not to make any jokes.

-Show an interest in the shop that you will be a sales assistant in as they like people to have product knowledge and enjoy working there. - Make sure you are confident and happy as you will be working with customers you need to show that you will nice to them. - Think beforehand about what duties you will have and how you will go about these. (They may ask you about this.) - Just be yourself. -Wear something smart casual - black trousers and a plain top. Make sure you look tidy. Also check that you know where to go and arrive five minutes early. Not too early though as you dont want to wait around too long. - Don't panic. You will be fine. Good luck. If you don't get the job just remember that lots of people apply and it is probably quite hard to choose somebody.

Get a nice professional pant/skirt suit, wear your hair nice and light but flattering makeup. Small earrings. Bring 2 copies of your resume. Be on time. Bring a list of questions to ask the interviewer (employers are impressed by questions). Sit with a good posture. Talk clearly with enthusiasm. Think positively.

Be very polite & respectful (yes sir, no sir); don't make demands unless you do so tactfully ("I'm unable to work Thursdays due to school committments, but I will try to be as flexible as possible.."), DRESS NICE (this is a great way to make a good impression and so many people don't seem to realize this - even if you feel overdressed, they will like it). Don't use profanity, if you have any tatoos or unusual piercings, do what you can to remove/cover them.

Best of luck!
