Don't burn yourself out in a couple of days. Pick a number of places to apply to per day and stick to it. If you try too many per day one you will run out of places to apply and also you will feel worn out with it. I suggest you actually visit 1 to 2 places a day. Call the same number and place your resume online. The best way to get hired is always by referall. So if you know anyone that works in the industry that you would like to get into then talk to them. Ask them if they can help.

In our state we have a Jobs center with lots of resources and career counseling. Also we have great union employers here. You can get a basic job and get transferred to whatever area you're good at.

Basically be willing to get in at entry level and work your tail off. And let the state resources give you a boost.

Spend time targeting your resume and cover letter for each position. Research the company you're applying to so that you sound informed. This totally breaks the monotony of job searching.

Keep yourself motivated. Try to have a "goal list", and keep refering to it. Don't get disheartened when you don't get a job, try to find you why you didn't get the job, then fix it.
Good luck.
