Most states have laws against distracting lights on motor vehicles. Red, green, and blue lights are reserved for Law enforcement, fire departments, and Office of Emergency Services vehicles except of course that red lights are used for tail lights and brake lights on all vehicles but they can only show to the rear. Flashing lights are also not legal on civilian vehicles except as turn signals or hazard lights and they must be amber. Kind of eliminates the concept. Driving a car is serious business, no one needs the tomfoolery of Christmas lights in the mix of worn out holiday travellers, bad weather, and drunk drivers.

There are strings of Christmas lights that run on batteries. You can put them on your car if you like. I don't think the police would care for them much though. In this city, even the neon ground effect lights would get you a ticket.

yes I love the holidays and Christmas lights are so pretty, I would like to give people something nice to look at while they were stuck in traffic.

What do you mean, "IF"?
Doesn't everyone decorate their cars for the holidays?
