hen it comes to vampire novels, Anne Rice tops the charts with masses of fans. Chances are, at least some members of the mob are going to have children in the future. Of those members, at least a few will probably be so moved as to name their poor, defenseless offspring after an Anne Rice character. I pity the future Lestats and Khaymans of the world. Why don't you go with a lesser-known vamp that won't get your child teased back to Marius' day?

Anne Rice has a number of vampires worth mentioning: Louis, Lestat, Armand, Pandora, Marius.
There's also the classic Nosferatu of the black and white silent film era, and was recently revisted ina film called Shadow of the Vampire. Well worth watching.
Blade (Wesley Snipes), though he was a day-walker. Some nice mordern day vamps in those films.
There are more but most are based on Dracula or Anne Rice's vampires in some way. There's also a big vampire movement in the RPG (Role Playing Games) scene with Vampire: The Masquerade.
You might want to be very careful about using other people's creations. Not only are there legal ramifications regarding copyright but it is also very bad manners to use someone elses characters without their permission.

Anne Rice's Louis and Lestat (especially Lestat) are famous. Her series of books is pretty well known, but Lestat is definitely the most famous of her books.
