do a google search for hard drive wiping programs and then wipe the drive install windows and then sell

and people saying use fdisk and reformat? dont listen to them if someone is good enought to use linux they can recover info in a snap so use an actual drive wiper

ideally format the drive and re-install windows, though even this will not totally delete your info it will not be easily traceable, but it can be done as everything you do is stored in a section of your hard drive that is totally hidden, the only way you can completely clean the hard drive is to use a programme called f-disk, this will totally wipe the hard drive and return it to factory default settings, but make sure you read each step as you go, first delete the partition then create a new partition on the HDD, then re-install the OS.

You need to wipe the hard drive properly, simply putting things in the recycling bin won't do. Use a program like KillDrive:

Format c or whatever you have as the name for the hard drive in dos and then reinstall windows with there name on it and everything once they have bought it or you could have them install windows

Run the Windows XP cd. It comes Bootable.
Just follow the instructions and that's it.

you need to format the hard drive... the best way is to write ones and zero's to the drive. if you have no clue what this means, then its best to have someone else do it.

yeah, of course
you have to clean all personal information but remember people may can undelete them. then u have to use power delete tools such as "shred "

remove the hard-drive smash it with a hammer. install new blank hard drive
