Legally? Not sure you can. They are mostly protected species. Also, they are not pets. They all have long sharp teeth and are a LOT stronger than you would believe possible. As they grow they stop being "cute" and become a problem and often a danger.
There are monkey sanctuaries in UK where you can "adopt" a monkey that was abused, misused and otherwise mishandled through sheer ignorance--by contributing to its upkeep in a sanctuary where they understand its needs and can take care of it properly. A monkey does not belong in a house/flat! If you want to be around monkies, consider volunteering at a zoo or sanctuary, or training as a zoo vet.

LOL Aaron. Good question, and John, great idea! Anyplace politicians hang out, there is certainly a lot of monkeying about the issues of their monkey business.
Of course, I am curious. Why would you want a monkey? I do not want even a human ape to keep me company. I much prefer the company of my lab mixes.

One thing I know about monkeys is they are ver expensive in the $30,000 range and I know in the US as soon as you buy certain species the zoos want to buy them off of you as soon as possible because that particular species is endangered.
